Melrose is a small town situated approximately 270 kilometres north of Adelaide in the Flinders Rangers. Settled in the 1840's Melrose was once a thriving country town but like most country towns a large part of the population has moved to larger cities. Melrose is a great place to base yourself and explore this unique part of Australia. There are many things to do within Melrose itself such as taking a historical walk or going bushwalking in the surrounding bush and viewing ancient aboriginal art. Mount Remarkable is situated a short walk from Melrose itself and has some stunning views from atop. There are plenty of camping sites and places to fish near Melrose itself. The town itself has a caravan park and hotel/motel accommodation.
