The Adelaide Desalination Plant project, Port Stanvac, (southern suburbs) is part of a state strategy to ensure a secure water supply for the future of South Australia.  Our multi-national consortium Adelaide Aqua has been awarded the contract to design & build this critical infrastructu re project.

Due to an increase in our workload we have requirements for a Cost Controller to start as soon as possible.

Description:

The role of the Cost Controller within the AdelaideAqua team performs essential commercial Project Management functions within the project controls group.  The position is responsible for providing cost engineering duties for the Adelaide Desalination Plant Project, in accordance with AdelaideAqua policies and procedures. Reporting to the Cost Control Manager the successful applicant is responsible for providing budget, forecasting, and cost management services to the allocated groups on the project. The Cost Controller is the focal point and custodian of all current and historical cost related information.

Competences:

  • Excellent skills in MS Office in order to create well structured documents, spreadsheets, presentations, proposals and other documents.
  • Demonstrated skills in prioritisation and time management to ensure that project reports are timely complied and workload is managed effectively within agreed timeframes and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a high level of analytical skills in order to perform analyses of project costs.
  • Provide a standard approach to budget and cost management services to assist other groups with the Adelaide Aqua Desalination project.
  • Be proactive in the development, maintenance and reporting of budget and cost performance activities.
  • Assist budget managers (and teams) in the development, maintenance and reporting of budget and cost performance against scoped budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly internal and external reporting.

To be considered for the role you will posses relevant tertiary qualifications, such as a Bachelor of Engineering or a Bachelor of Commerce. Ideally you will also hold an extensive track record of cost control on large scale, fast track construction projects.
