Providing consulting services in mining, geology, finance and management across Australia and over 100 countries overseas, this international consultancy has experienced significant growth over the past 12 months.

Due to a further increase in workload, and a growing base of technical cons ultants, a Group Manager of Mine Engineering is required to lead the firm’s South Australian operations on both a technical and organisational management level. The purpose of this position is to provide direction to all levels of technical staff as the lead project manager, undertake business development on behalf of the firm whilst managing internal organisational processes. Due to high levels of success already achieved by the firm, the group manager will operate across a wide variety of large and small projects from open cut iron ore to underground coal and gold.

This position requires an individual with significant experience at a senior level across multiple resource industries and will be remunerated accordingly. The successful applicant will be rewarded with a $200k base salary + company and management bonuses for team performance. Reasonable relocation expenses will be provided as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree qualification in Mine Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia

Member of the Australian Institute of Mines and Metallurgy

18+ years experience in Mine Engineering

Management and leadership experience as Principal Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carrying out technical assignments as lead project manager

Business development using industry knowledge and contacts

Manage the firm’s exposure to risk

Management of personnel, budgets and recruitment where needed
